The sailboat hasn't been mentioned in the Casa pages yet, but I got me one, sorta: It's a 16-foot homebuilt job that someone gave to a coworker, who halfway restored it, then left sitting in his backyard for ten years. He gave it to me, and now it's my turn to restore it -- I don't intend to take ten years... .
Anyhow, 'way back when, I built what I call a convertible utility trailer, the purpose of which was to haul stuff, and also to carry a removable cradle for the boat. Since I bought the Nissan, hauling is a moot point, but I'm finally getting around to building the boat cradle.
I built a mock-up first, since 80 feet of 2x2 pine is a lot cheaper than 80 feet of steel tubing... .
Welding up the real thing
Stress test! (Standing on the main supports for the boat.)
