(Seaview B&B, Mrs. E.V. Sutherland): Drove through Kyle of Localsh on the way to Skye Bridge but didn't see the bank, so I'll have to be careful unless there's one here in Broadford. (I should ask Mrs. Sutherland.)
So, off to find dinner. I won't be out late tonight, not after last night in Plockton and drinking with the MacRaes and associates this afternoon -- I'm ready for a nap already, and it's only 7:00... .
Had dinner at The Claymore. OK, but the waitresses bustling back and forth was a bit disconcerting.
Scotland Journal, 5/26/98
My last full day in Scotland. Sigh!
Slept about ten hours last night -- looking at all I did yesterday I reckon I needed it! Had a nice breakfast and another chat with Mrs. Sutherland. Walked up to the Bank of Scotland beforehand and took a £100 cash advance on MasterCard. (I wish I hadn't had to do that, but I don't know what state my FT accounts are in and I can't be sure of being able to cash any traveller's checks.)
Drove out to Elgol on Mrs. S's advice and got some good snaps of the Cuillins. Met a woman along the way who was out walking her deerhound -- the first deerhound I've seen in Scotland, and it was on Skye!
Took a pic of the dog in its yard but it was from a long distance. I don't know if I'll be able to see it when the film's developed.
